Mindfulness + Self-Compassion - 8.26.2018
Do you struggle with handling emotions during life’s ups and downs? Does it seem as though you’re constantly on autopilot, not really present? Do you tend to start your days off with nagging thoughts such as “I didn’t get enough sleep” or “I’m already late for work” that only increase throughout the day? Are you ready to wake up to your life?
If this sounds like you, training in mindfulness and self-compassion skills can help.
Skills in mindfulness and self-compassion have the following benefits:
- Decrease in anxiety and depression symptoms
- Better resiliency in handling difficult emotions
- Increased productivity, focus and attention
- Increased immune functioning
- Decrease in feelings of insecurity
- Increased capacity for empathy
- Better relationships with others
- Increase in self-worth
In this workshop we'll be covering the basics of mindfulness and self-compassion, why we find these skills hard, and their importance in our lives. We will also be looking at how these skills can help you to better communicate in relationships, relate to unwanted thoughts/emotions more compassionately, and create loving kindness for painful emotions.
We will walk through practical skills you can immediately use in your relationships, with food, and in handling life’s difficulties. You don't need to bring anything at all for this workshop other than an open heart and mind.
